We’re committed to making sure everyone gets home safe and well every day.
At Cawarden, the health, safety and wellbeing of our colleagues and everyone we interact with is our number one priority. We empower all our colleagues, regardless of their role or where they work, to keep health, safety and wellbeing at the top of their agenda.
Our colleagues are committed to reducing risks, upholding high standards and providing a safe working environment where there are no injuries, ill health or incidents caused as a result of our operations. We remain passionate about making progress and developing safer and healthier methods of working and sharing best practice across the sector for continuous improvement.
Holding regular stand-down events, led by Managing Director, William Crooks, is an opportunity to learn lessons, discuss and share new ideas, and ultimately to maintain focus and enhance our positive health and safety culture.
Training
To ensure working practices and techniques are completely up-to-date, we provide ongoing training so that all operational colleagues hold the necessary training, cards and certificates that are appropriate to their roles. This includes CCDO, CSCS, CPCS, and NPORS cards. These cards are obtained by undertaking the appropriate NVQ qualification and relevant courses. All sites have the appropriate first aid trained staff.
Key colleagues are members of the Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE). IDE members attend regular events and seminars throughout the year to keep up to date with the latest updates from the industry.
Health & Wellbeing
Mental health and wellbeing is important to us. That’s why we have colleagues who are Mental Health Ambassadors and Mental Health First Aid trained by the National Demolition Training Group (NDTG).
We provide occupational health services designed to support the health and wellbeing of employees. These services include health surveillance and medicals.
Accreditations & Memberships
To demonstrate our commitment to health and safety, regulatory compliance and raising industry standards, we receive rigorous and stringent auditing through several industry bodies, including the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC).
