Cawarden demolishes a former office building in the Matlock countryside to bring a brownfield site back into use to help meet a significant need for elderly care.

Cawarden delivered a full turnkey demolition solution to clear the existing site which consisted of one main 2-storey structure, known as Servo House, and one industrial storage building.

The enabling works included electric and gas disconnections; degassing and decommissioning of air conditioning units and installing tree protection fencing. All waste from the interior soft strip was segregated and materials were removed from the site for recycling.

To complete the project, the team broke out and removed the existing floor slabs and foundations for both buildings.

Cawarden’s work on this project has helped to bring this brownfield site back into use.
